Our Story

What We Do

The Little Phonics Club began with a desire to make after-school time more purposeful for young children, offering enriching, educational experiences that extend beyond the classroom.

Founded by Miss Alicia, a qualified teacher with years of experience in the Early Years Foundation Stage at some of London’s leading independent schools, the club was created to give children aged 3–5 a joyful headstart in their learning.

Through creative, hands-on activities that build on early literacy knowledge, the club nurtures confidence, independence, and a love of learning from the very beginning.

The Little Phonics Club is a focused after-school club that nurtures curiosity and confidence in early reading and writing.

Each session complements classroom learning, giving children the chance to revisit, consolidate, and extend what they have been taught during the day through carefully designed, engaging activities.

In a small, nurturing group, children explore early literacy activities while developing social skills and resilience. Parents receive regular updates, so progress is clear and celebrated, giving every child a strong foundation for current learning, future success, and early preparation for school entrance.

Frequently Asked Questions

What age groups is the club for?
The club is designed for children ages 3 to 5. Sessions are tailored to suit developmental stages and the phonics phase each child is working within.

How is this different from regular tuition?
Unlike 1:1 tuition, our small group sessions are curriculum-aligned and delivered through creative activities. We focus on consolidation, not acceleration - helping children secure their learning in a calm, engaging environment, that complements their classroom experience.

Will this help with 7+ or 8+ exam preparation?
Absolutely. While we don’t ‘cram’ for exams, our focus on phonics mastery, verbal confidence, and independent thinking provides children with a strong foundation for assessments and school entrance interviews.

How many children are in a session?
Each group has a maximum of 12 children to ensure individual attention, regardless of level, progress tracking, and a supportive learning environment.

Do I get feedback on my child’s progress?
Yes. You’ll receive weekly home tasks and termly reports. â€‹

How much does it cost?
Sessions are booked on a half-termly basis - that's 5 sessions for £120. This includes all materials, progress updates, and take-home resources.
